Marianne Isager, dale of norway

I have the Marianne Isager line of yarns. There is an ad on page 52 in the latest Vogue knitting showing the cherry scarf knit with this yarn. (This is a really good issue by the way. I have the Debbie Bliss Cashmerino that was used to knit the hat on the cover).

I am the only store in the area who carries this line, so make sure you check it out when you are in.
I have the Cherry scarf and the little clara dress pattern available with the purchase of yarn.

Marianne's first book was knitting out of Africa. I have her newestbook, classic knits, in stock as well as the smaller pattern books.

Coming next week: Anniversary fun! Come in an enter to win a fold up blocking board (it is at least 4x6'), a bag of lana doro from cascade in a gorgeous shade of red, etc. (I am still figuring out waht all to do as prizes) There will be things (sales) going on the entire month of October.

One last thing, I also carry the Dale of Norway line of yarn and books. I even have the little patches you can sew on to make the sweater look official.

cat bordhi christmas stocking

I got a call from a customer today about a pattern to crochet a christmas stocking. This of course sent me to the internet and flipping through stuff. I found a really good book of the pattern and hopefully I can get it from my vendor on Monday.....but of course I did discover a really neat knitted pattern for a Christmas stocking with pockets on knitters review designed by Cat Bordhi.
SHe really is so creative and she has a new book out call Personal Footprints for Insouciant Sock Knitters. My copies haven't arrived yet. If you want to see what other books she has written, checkout her website.
The Lorna laces Cat's Ahaa yarn should be back in stock next week. This is a great yarn to learn to knit with or to learn a new skill on. It is easy to see the stitches.

I still have the reprint of the 1948 Grace Ennis stocking pattern in stock.

zauberball

I just read a note from my vendor today. They wanted me to make sure my customers know that this yarn IS NOT A CENTER PULL BALL. Pulling from the inside will cause the yarn to stretch and tangle.
If you want a center pull, you will need to rewind the ball.
I hope this message saves someone trouble.

new additions

If you are participating in the shop hop, make sure you turn in your completed passport by Sun Sept 27. This is the last day of the shop hop and the grand prize winners will be chosen quickly.
I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed meeting all of you.
I currently have 5 trunk shows in the store.

Also in Zauberball fingering yarn. The color changes in the yarn are really interesting and different. It has long colors that blend into each other.

errata happens

It has been awhile since I talked about pattern errata, but since a lot of you are pulling out your work or starting your new fall projects, please remember to check the publisher, or designer's websites and see if the pattern has any errata. Sometimes it is real errors. Sometimes it is a clarification. If a designer or publisher gets the same question over and over, then obviously the pattern has some ambiguity to clear up.

Here are some links to errata, you may find useful. Of course if it isn't listed below, you should still do your own search to see if there is one out there.
