yarniashop ravelry group
If you are on ravelry, I just added a group named yarniashop. I thought it might be nice to have pics of projects of yarn purchased at Yarnia in one spot and if any of you want to organize a KAL (knit a long), this would give you a spot to organize on. So if you are interested join us.
IF you have not joined ravelry, you will need to request an account before you can join us. If this is not your sort of thing, I am always glad to see your projects in the store so bring them in and show them off. I could also post some of the information on the yarniashop blog.

Illumniarts, group felted rug
If you are looking for something fun and creative to do in Canton on Sat March 27 check out the Illumniarts celebration at Timken High school from 10-4. See here for the flyer.
This event is not just for Timkin High school. It is a stark county event that just happens to be at the High school....and it is free. A couple of years ago, I sponsored the making of a community rug out of wool at the event. Everyone who came had a chance to stomp on and felt the rug. Somewhere around here, I have pictures of people making the rug. IF you have an outdoor event this summer and want to try this on your own check out this website on how to get a group to make a rug.
This person on the website gives very nice directions.
I just found a great book with lots of summer knitting projects....knitting in the sun by Kristin Porter. I have many of the yarns she uses in the book in stock.

The fine line by Grace Anna Farrow
This book The Fine Line by Grace Anna Farrow just came in and I LOVE IT!. I actually saw Ms Farrow doing one of these pieces in an Isager workshop last June and I loved everything about it. The colors she used, the way it flowed and draped, the fact that I could wear it anywhere with many, many things..... It was on my to do list to contact the gentleman who provides me with the Isager yarn I sell here at Yarnia to find out if she ever got the pattern written up. And now this book arrives with the piece I wanted and so much more.

addi clic wallets
addi clic wallets are in stock. For the time being they are on special so if you bought the original addi set and want the wallet now is a good time to get it.
The new unisono sock yarn from zitron is in.
On a totally different note. Remember that March is Colorectal Cancer awareness month . I know the idea of a colonoscopy is no fun, but early detection can make such a difference. Most people can wait until they are 50 but talk to your doctor to make sure you aren't one of the people who should have a baseline test earlier.

denise interchangeable needles
The Denise interchangeable knitting needles are back in stock. I also have the crochet hooks and replacement parts.
The weekly special is alpaca (and I have left the cotton weekly special on for one more week in honor of seeing the sun once again.)
I just finished a cable hat in O-wool. This yarn is very nice but then you wash it and it blooms and is just gorgeous. I did the hat in O-wool classic.
I have the white baskets with handles back in stock.

Kisses, snuggly bamboo, eco baby
Recent yarn arrivals:
Kisses from Sirdar. This non wool yarn has a very subtle variegation of color. The new pattern book uses this effect beautifully. The pictures online do not show off how beautiful the yarn is. If you knit for kids, you will want to see it in person.
Debbie Bliss baby eco. This is one of the yarns used in the new Debbie Bliss magazine for summer. There are a lot more colors available than are shown online so far. Another one that is better in person.
New colors of snuggly baby bamboo. The new colors are a much more vibrant palette than the ones I had in stock.
The latest issue of Interweave Knits is in. It has a great article on the kitchener stitch amount other things.
Sublime baby book
Respect the spindle DVD
Haapsalu shawl - beautiful book!!
Crochet finger puppets
Knitted dresses for bears
Itty bitty crochet dresses
and several other books
