New pattern books from Dale of Norway arrived.Book 158 Interior Accessories, 213 the 2010 olympic sweaters, Book 208 and 210 baby books.  Don't forget, I have the patches to sew onto your sweaters to make them look like the official sweaters.   I have a number of other pattern books in stock including the difficult to find patterns for pre teen/teen sizes.

The Top down sweater class starts this Sat Oct 24.  Beginning knitting starts Wed Oct 28 6-8 for the rest of classes offered, please check  the classes list.

I have all the new patterns from Schoolhouse Press in stock.  I forgot to mention them when I got in the Knitting Lace book by Susanna Lewis.

New issue of Pieceworks arrived today

Buttons are on sale and the anniversary raffle will be drawn on Nov 1.

Knitting Tip:  Ladders:  Knitting stitches do not stand alone.  They are part of the community of stitches they  are next to.  If you are too loose or too tight with a stitch in the same spot ( like between 2 double point needles), you will get a "ladder".  If you are getting ladders, pay attention to how your are pulling at the needles, pulling off the stitch, or the tension of the working yarn.  If you are doing something different than you typically do, adjust.  Too loose and you will have a bigger bar than usual between 2 stitches.  Too tight and you usually make the bar of the next stitch over too tight.
Speaking of knitting tips.... the new issue of Cast ON is on its way.  This a a great teaching magazine that is only available in yarn shops.  The articles often have many  technique tips.  I highly recommend this magazine.  Beginners will learn useful things and intermediate/expert knitters can improve technique and learn what to emphasize to their students.

I found an interesting basic crochet  snowboarder hat.   pattern in a blog.  The Dark Horse Fantasy yarn would do it nicely if you want acrylic and the Dale of Norway Falk or Cascade would do a nice job in wool.
